For our last Bite30 visit of the season, we decided to visit Wine 4 Oysters Bar & Bites. We had such a great experience at this small family-owned restaurant.

The Digs
The dining area isn't a very large space but is nicely decorated and has several options for seating. There is a large bar area on the left, with several tables to the right, and a couch to lounge on near the front entrance. Despite its size, there was plenty of space between tables. The lighting was sufficient, so I could both read the menu and see what I was eating.

The Service
We were immediately greeted by one of the owners, Tatiana. Once we were seated, water was promptly provided. Not only was the service excellent, but the atmosphere was very friendly and laid back. Tatiana explained the items we ordered, answered any questions we had, and ensured we had everything we needed to enjoy our meal.
The Tastebud Delights
As for the meal, we couldn't be more pleased. We started off with some drinks. I got the wine flight which came with four different types of wines, each served with a separate course from the Bite30 menu. All the wines were very good and there were even a couple that my beer loving husband enjoyed. Our favorite was the ice wine served with dessert.

My husband liked the Sake Oyster Shooter so much that he ordered a second one. The shooter was savory in flavor, which was unexpected, yet pleasant.

With Bite30, the Prix Fixe dinner comes with an appetizer, entree, and dessert. For appetizers, we got the Lobster, Crab, Shrimp Canoe and the Salmon Toastini. The entrees we chose were the Baked Oyster Sampler and Lobster Risotto. We topped it all off with Waffers and the Seasonal Cake.

There was plenty of lobster packed into the Lobster, Crab, Shrimp Canoe. It came with romaine lettuce leaves on the side to wrap the mix with, spiced avocado creme, and a peanut-horseradish aioli. I thought the mix of sauces were very interesting, but they paired surprisingly well with the lobster crab shrimp mix. I typically don't like horseradish, but there was just enough to give the peanut sauce a kick and was not overpowering. The entire dish was very enjoyable.

The Salmon Toastini was good as well. I liked the crispiness of the Toastini, and the presentation of the dish was simple, yet elegant. This dish was served with capers, horseradish aioli, and lemon wedges. I was entirely expecting to dislike the horseradish aioli but was again pleasantly surprised by the smoothness of this sauce, which provided a nice finish to the Salmon Toastini.

The Baked Oyster Sampler was amazing. It came with two Rockefeller, Grill Cheese, On-Fire, and Kilpatrick oysters, for a total of 8. They all had very different flavors. The Rockefeller oysters were very good and what you would typically expect from that style of oyster. This was my husband's favorite. The grill cheese was (as aptly named) full of delicious cheese on top of the oyster. The Kilpatrick oyster had a barbeque flavor with bacon added in. Though these oysters were really good, I found the toppings hid the actual oyster flavor and texture to some extent. My favorite, however, was the On-Fire oyster which was not at all spicy and had just enough flavor that I could still taste the oyster itself. The oysters were served with delicious homemade crackers which provided a nice palette cleansing between the varying flavors.

We also enjoyed the Lobster Risotto, especially with all the big chunks of lobster in it. It was a nice portion size and had great texture. However, out of all the dishes we tried, this one seemed a bit bland.

The desserts were absolutely amazing! I really enjoyed the crispiness of the Waffers. My favorite was the strawberry flavor, as it seemed light and airy. My husband really enjoyed the richness of the caramel one.

The Seasonal Cake was also super light and refreshing. I wish I could remember the name, but it seemed to be some type of layer cake.

The Takeaway
Overall, my husband and I really enjoyed this place. We will be on a search for the ice wine we tried (and both liked). Also, we must return to try the other types of oysters offered at this establishment. We felt welcomed and had a great experience for our 'New Restaurant Tuesday' experience. Kudos to Tatiana for great service and friendly disposition, and compliments to chef Andrey for a delicious meal.
